Hi There,

my name is Rachel and I’m the owner/operator of The Traveling Spirit!  After working in the hospitality industry for almost two decades, I aimed to bring a fun and experiential bartending company to Houston.  I graduated from The Culinary Institute of America in 2007 and spent the better part of my 20’s cooking all over the country. Now, I’ve transferred everything I learned into creating cocktails!  We use local, seasonal products whenever possible; our juices are freshly squeezed, and all of our shrubs and syrups are made in-house.  I love using fresh herbs and spices to create one-of-a-kind drinks and because we eat (and drink) with our eyes first, our cocktails are always beautiful.  We’d love to create a memorable experience at your next event!

Meet Betsy

In the summer of 2018, I found her an hour outside of Austin and it was far from love at first sight.  Originally a 1959 Cardinal caravan camper, it took some family friends and I 6 months to fully gut and rebuild her into what she is today.  She comes equipped with three serving windows, a dual tap system, ice wells for displaying bottles, a love seat, and tons of charm!  Betsy is named after my late mother who would have absolutely loved her and always appreciated a good cocktail! 

Betsy can be decorated to fit in perfectly with any event from tailgates to weddings!
