I’m Rachel, the owner and operator of The Traveling Spirit! Since 2018, we’ve been bringing unique, experiential bartending to Houston, creating unforgettable cocktail experiences for every event. With nearly two decades of experience in the hospitality industry, I’m passionate about elevating every gathering through beautifully crafted drinks and exceptional service.
I graduated from The Culinary Institute of America in 2007 and spent much of my 20s working as a chef across the country. I eventually fell in love with the art of cocktail making and have since combined my culinary expertise with cocktail creation to deliver custom, one-of-a-kind drinks.
At The Traveling Spirit, we focus on using local, seasonal ingredients whenever possible. Our juices are freshly squeezed, and all of our shrubs and syrups are made in-house to ensure the freshest flavors. I also love incorporating fresh herbs and spices to create cocktails that are not only delicious but visually stunning-because we believe you drink with your eyes first!

Meet Betsy
Betsy, our beloved 1959 Cardinal caravan camper, has been the heart of The Traveling Spirit since 2018. When I first found her just outside of Austin, she needed quite a bit of love and care. But after 6 months of hard work, with the help of family friends, we transformed her into the charming mobile bar you see today.
Fully equipped with three serving windows, a dual tap system, ice wells to display bottles, and even a cozy loveseat, Betsy is as functional as she is stylish. Named after my late mother, who had a true appreciation for a well-crafted cocktail, Betsy brings warmth and personality to every event she attends.
From tailgates to weddings, Betsy is versatile and can be decorated to perfectly complement any occasion. Let her roll into your next celebration and add a touch of vintage charm and unforgettable cocktails to your special day!
